The damage to foreign policy can be irreversible. Do you understand the whole "empty suit" thing now?

Obama is like a confused child on the world stage and has made the US a laughing stock.

I hope that people in the future understand the serious implications of placing a dynamic, yet inexperienced and incompetent man, in the White House.

Let us hope that the nation does not get fooled again so quickly. However, given the percentage of Americans on the federal dole and the collective IQ of the nation declining, I fear that we will have more presidents that resemble Obama more than Reagan or Lincoln.

I'm sure O will punish the US military for his failures.

That's the kind of thing Narcissists do.

A Tortured Policy Toward Russia

"This domestic pressure was on display in Syria. Mr. Obama’s error was not that he backed away from military action and accepted Russia’s proposal to rid Syria of chemical weapons. The mistake was that he drew a red line that would have been more costly to back up than the United States was willing to tolerate. America lost credibility internationally for failing to make good on its threat."

==========================

For some time, to everyone except the drone-like truest of the true believers, obama's presidency has been one of amateurism, immaturity, confusion, and outright incompetence from the beginning, particularly with respect to foreign policy.

He has alienated practically every major ally, and emboldened every major enemy. Iran has been given 6 additional years towards it nuclear weapons program, saudi and egypt are barely allies anymore with egypt turning to the russians for support and weapons, eastern europe is mobilizing its armies because they can no longer trust the US to defend them, Israel's top pols openly state on a daily basis how they can not count on this administration, syria is way, way behind schedule turning over its chem weapons and assad is still massacring the people of syria, it was France of all places who had to drag obama in to remove qaddafi when he was about to slaughter huge numbers of libyans, etc.

The list is astounding, and even his Protector, the NYT, is starting to run hostile editorials against him and the administration. It was a cute thing to have the country's first black president, but he was not the right one and it is now costing this country dearly in terms of credibility and relationships, problems that might take decades to fix.

So the OP thinks Obama should have invaded Syria because he said there was a line?

Yes, Obama needs to grow a pair, and Nuke the Rookies. That'l show them we mean business!

And now the exercise is complete. There is no one left on either side of the political spectrum capable of one rational thought.

Duck and cover ... for all the good that will do you!

Whatever scripts you are prescribing yourself, stop.

Sadly, I think the last president of the United States is sitting in the White House. There won't be United States in 2016 at the rate things are progressing ... we may not even make it to 2015!

The problem is not the man in the White House ... the problem is so many people think that is the problem.

You actually think the Kucklehead decides policy? That's the problem, since you are supposed to be a highly educated man.

You think there won't be a United States in 2016? Anything specific that you think will make the country's government crumble in the next 2 years?

Despite the mastebatory fantasies around here for wars none of you will ever have to fight, the US will not get into a shooting war unless we or a close ally (NATO, Korea, Japan) are attacked. Russia may invade eastern Ukraine and we won't do thing about it militarily. It's not worth the cost in both blood and treasure.

And say what you will about Syria, but it was the very threat of military strikes that allowed Russia to step in a broker a deal on chemical weapons. I'm no fan of this administration's domestic policies, but think they've done a masterful job abroad. We've avoided new wars and the "nervousness" that we've caused allies has been a wake up call that they are going to have to start pulling their own weight in our very lopsided alliance.
