I stand corrected.

LOL, check your link, the prognosis of it passing are 2%. I think they're being optimistic. Which is kinda horrible if you think about it.

The war on the low wage worker is waged at state and local levels. See your local zoning code.

Oh I saw that but didn't want to "rub it in" in my post comment

FWIW that senator has submitted a raise the min wage bill each year for the past several years.
It never makes it out of committee.

There's just not enough min wage workers to make it worth it for them.
A majority are either younger than 18 or between 18-26 and in college.
And they typically come out of the woodwork to vote in Presidential elections.
Could be a campaign pledge by Hillary if she wants to get the youth vote.

That word doesnt mean what you think it means.

Most Collectivists would be fine with securing the border and deporting illegals. Collectivists ussually think of the nation as their collective, not humanity. Although some do the whole humanity thing, the vast majority revolve around social groups like nations.

You're using it as an insult without having any idea what it actually means.

What the hell, raise it to $100 an hour. It won't change a thing. Be my guest.

It does as much as anyone elses.. We have been raising the minimum wage for decades and what have we achieved by it? Do we still have the working poor? Of coarse we do.. You see, raising the minimum wage is only a temporary fix to a permanent problem of a shrinking economy. You can't fix it with a bandaid, in fact in the long term you actually do more damage to the poor.

Raising the minimum wage keeps it in line as much as possible with inflation. You DO know what inflation is right?

So whats your solution then? Seriously, lets hear your better idea.

He's not far off if you think about it.

So Congress wants to raise the min wage to $10.10 over 3 years and then tie annual increases to their COL numbers which is tied to CPI which is kept artificially low.

Sounds good on paper. A 2% COLA raise in min wage.
Meanwhile your cellphone bill has increased 31% (which is what happened over the past 2 years).
Your rent increases as property taxes increase which is a lot more than 2%.

Min wage can never really be a "livable wage" because prices increase a heck of a lot more than the government CPI COLAs
