"The public schools are under the sway of the teacher's union, which opposes any meaningful change that will actually help the children."
Harrier can read just fine.
Perhaps you could tell the rest of us how to obtain the x-ray vision which allows you to see within that sentence "CTA dictates curriculae".
Teachers have little ability to do that in liberal California.
The public schools are under the sway of the teacher's union, which opposes any meaningful change that will actually help the children.
That isn't to say that there aren't teachers who want to do positive things, it is just that the CTA won't allow teachers to act independently.
The CTA, along with the prison guards union, is in the Democrat's pocket, and virtually buys every state election.
The LAUSD specifically has had teachers who tried to act on behalf of the students to improve their education and the liberal administration has shut them down - and in the following case - fired them.
All of your circular nonsense aside, what exactly were you alluding to here (and also in post #81)? Are you now saying the CTA doesn't have sway over "any meaningful change that will actually help the children."? Since apparently, you now agree with me that the CTA doesn't control curriculum - what "meaningful change that will actually help the children" are you proposing (outside of curriculum , obviously)? Let's hear it.

Out of curiosity, since when does "influence" equate to "dictate"? Last I checked, a group could have a lot of influence without being dictatorial.
I never said the CTA had that kind of influence or dictates what happens in the classroom, you must have mistaken me for another poster.
You've been arguing with Harrier for 2 pages over the definition of the word "dictate" and whether or not he said that the CTA dictates school curricula. Yet, you don't understand the question?
Hint: Harrier never said that the CTA dictates curricula. What he did say is that they have a lot of influence on the people who actually do dictate curricula.

The kind of influence he thinks they have, they don't. The CTA is not a group like the UFT, they are defanged, to put it lightly.
