Wonder what they're thinking Get rid of one breed a**holes will just use another breed.
Make the penalty harsh enough no one dares to use the dogs as fighting dogs.

I guess you didn't read my post as pit bulls are illegal in the UK and will be out down, they are one of four illegal breeds in the UK. They were also not shot they were out down some hours late by a vet. They were destroyed because there owners didn't adhere to Court Orders and they were judged by the police and the courts to be dogs involved in fighting or kept as violent status symbols rather than family pets.

"Invariably, the people who keep these dogs keep them as a status symbol and are not responsible dog owners," the Ch Insp said.
"These dogs are fighting dogs, they are not designed to be family pets."
Ch Insp Gibson said the dogs had been "humanely destroyed".
Police have breed status units, the Met having one which works alongside the RSPCA. These dogs weren't shot they were humanely destroyed, and these breeds have been illegal since 1991.
