Not until we build something that will stand the test of time Like pyramids. Al Qaeda has proven our skyscrapers to be extremely weak and prone to failure due to heat. (not so subtle 911 jab, deal with it or build better structures)
America has built an entire political/cultural ideology that is being copied around the world. I'd rather have that as an accomplishment than a pile of rocks.

While I do believe that our laws and prison structure needs to be changed, your argument doesn't really hold water. Considering that the country which has the largest percentage of the world's population (China) tends to skip the prison sentence and go straight to the execution, I think I'd prefer the incarceration method.

Again, I believe that our laws and prison structure need to be changed, but we don't incarcerate the poor for being poor. If the poor commit an act that they know is a crime, however, then their incarceration is wholly upon their own conscience.

Rhetoric does not equal insight. Unless you can actually back up your claims of American atrocities with something substantial, all you managed to do is hold a minor pity party on an internet forum.
but i'd probably give that distinction to the Roman Empire, the Mamluk Sultanate, or the Mongol Empire. they were each very unique and unusual.
but if we're just going for general dissimilarity to anyone else, you might have to pick the Holy Roman Empire. that was a strange way to organize a government.
