Because technically they are non profit. The NFL takes in the money and then disperses it to the owners. Now realistically this is what corporations do with stock holders.
So the way it should be is that they all are treated this way or none of them. That said this is the absolutely wrong way to go about it. Never should the government tell anyone that unless they conform to their ideas of proper speech they will get hit with additional taxes.
