This is not a sophisticated cover-up.....they are just tossing this out there on a Friday evening expecting it to not be covered by the MSM. And they are right. I don't expect NBC. ABC, or CBS to report on this in any meaningful way.

This is watergate folks. Cover up. You do not lose emails due to computer crash, end of story.
Agreed. This has foul play written all over it.

If they are allowed to get away with this, the IRS, then you know what...we are just screwed. Do we need any further reason to distrust government and its many arms? They have unyielding power over us and if they are allowed to walk away from this, Im sorry, but this country is done as we know it. They can do anything they want and just destroy evidence then claim its lost.

And FOX probably already reported a dozen versions of something like this before the factual version was released, so nobody will notice.

Oh ok, so I should wait for the "factual version" from MSNBC?

And make sure the captive NYT opinion writers gin up the faux outrage machine and blame the Republicans for the whole thing in the first place.

As of this moment the NYT hasn't even reported it. I suspect they're waiting for guidance from the administration after the administration's in-house flash polls tell them what to tell the NYT to say.

And people wonder why liberals are seen as the most pathetic, corrupt people in DC.
