Of course he is; playing to the environmentalist base. But likely it would be like his stimulus spending sold as huge infrastructure plan with millions of jobs created then turned out to be most just keeping public sector job special interest. Then of course he wanted another so called infrastructure spending plan.lots of theroies out there and lot of special interest wanting funding based on it. Its like throw more money at education and selling that will fix system that has ben failing with a lot already thrown at it.
What I disagree with (and many others) is the break neck speed at what is being pushed..."we have to act now or else." That's what many people disagree with. How many ice ages has there been?
When then? The thing about the ice-ages is irrelevant. There is natural climate change, but what we are talking about is the influence that human-kind has had. That has only started since the industrial revolution. That's kinda the point, the carbon that is stored under the earth's surface has taken millions of years to get there, and is being released in a very short timespan of a couple hundred years, and that rate is growing exponentially along with technology, population, and purchasing power.
I also realize that it is not one sided. I believe we need to do something, but I also understand the following:
Just like there those who are incentivized to deny GW, there are those who are incenitvized to prove it exists
Man Made GW exists along side natural swings, it's not ALL man made
I don't want to live in a cave, we MUST except some level of carbon footprint
All the rules and changes thinkable will not eliminate GW (but we can reduce inpact)
And mostly, Man, like the dinosaurs will one day be extinct. It's just a fact.
All that to say, that we do what we can, but realize the limits.
But also to say that we don't just throw up our hands, and (like practically every other issue) say we'll deal with it later.
I wish our esteemed leader would slam deniers, but he's a denier himself.
our?
I always thought you were deluded....turns out I just never knew Obama was PM of Canada.
