Today, the U.S. soccer team defeated Ghana, a team that calls itself the Black Stars.

Given the hypersensitivity that liberals such as John Wiley Price have to anything that contains the word "black", the obvious question would be "is the Ghanians nickname racist?"

Also, the New Zealand soccer team created a bit of a row in the last World Cup because they are known as the "All-Whites", because of their distinctive uniforms.

The 2010 World Cup was held in South Africa, a nation that has experienced significant racial strife, so of course someone got "offended".

What would be the reaction if a team named themselves the "White Stars"?

I believe the NZ team's name is kind of a response to their national rugby team, The All Blacks (because of their black uniforms).

Harrier knows black is a color right? I have a bag made from a company called Black Star and it has nothing to do with race either....is this some weak connection Harrier is trying to make to the Redskins?

Harrier wants to know why Ghana can call themselves the Black Stars but a white commissioner in Dallas can't compare central collections to a black hole.

He also wants to know what would be the reaction to a team that named themselves the White Stars.

That'd make sense.

And of course, the All-Blacks kick butt! Is there another major sports team that has a tradition as awesome as the Haka?

Isn't the Black Star from the flag of Ghana? I believe it derives from the old shipping company set up by Marcus Garvey.

I could be way off on this and too lazy to look it up.

Giana's team is called the Black Stars because there is a black star in the middle of the Ghanaian flag.

You just can't stop reaching, can you?

Reaching?

No.

Harrier just asked a question.

Why is black hole bad but black star good?

You should probably ask the guy who said it. Because I didn't see anyone here defending it.

That video is hilarious. The white guy was ticked when that dude asked for an apology. Look at his face! Lol.

Then the rest of the council just ignored his request for an apology.

Hahahaha!!!
