Yet he is a registered Republican. He must not have any faith in being actually attached to the Libertarian party, which would make Ron Paul an Armchair Libertarian.

I understand you only see things in terms of party, so I figured you'd come back with that. But Ron Paul is a libertarian, but agree he isn't a registered Libertarian.

Yeah, let me know when Ron Paul actually supports the Libertarian party and registers as a Libertarian instead of being a registered Republican who pretends to be a Libertarian.

This is rich - coming from the poster who started this thread.

Urban dictionary gives a pretty good definition for being urban dictionary "a person of liberal ideals who takes no action to realize them." I think the biggest "theme" for armchair liberals is how they think they are helping the poor simply because they vote Democrat, then they dust off their hands and congratulate themselves on being such great activists. I find them annoying, but harmless.
I would say a great many of the threads you start are of the us vs them category ~ divided strictly down party lines.

1) Differentiate between Libertarian and libertarian.
2) Ron Paul was the Libertarian Party's presidential candidate in 1988. Still an armchair libertarian though.

Ah yes, that one time he ran as a Libertarian for President, which he then ran back to the Republican party the moment that it was over.

Oh and the difference between Libertarian and libertarian is one is willing to invest their ideas within their party and the other likes to enjoy their armchairs while pretending they are real Libertarians.
