The wave of anti-Semitic violence continues to rock French Jewry, as a gang of 20 attackers on Monday reportedly assaulted visibly Jewish students wearing kippot (yarmulkes) at a local library in the capital city of Paris.
-Two Saturdays ago, attackers reportedly approached a Paris synagogue in the city's 20th District armed with an AK-47 assault rifle and a handgun.
-The Saturday prior to that, two visibly Jewish teenagers wearing kippot report being sprayed with tear gas in Sarcelles, a northern suburb of Paris, by North African assailants.
-A week before that, two other Jewish teenagers, aged 14 and 15, narrowly escaped an axe-wielding man of Arab appearance in another Paris suburb.
Clearly France cannot protect it's own citizens from these attacks and the only solution will be for all the French Jews to continue emigrating to Israel where they actually have a government looking out for them. I have a feeling the Muslim Arabs will just move on to persecuting Christians once all the Jews have fled. I wonder if France will do something about it then?
France has a population of approximately 500,000 Jews. The incidences of anti-Semitic activities seem sporadic and not wide-spread but the trends are worrisome with the rise of LePen and tensions with the Muslim community. France is definitely headed for some social strife between the Muslims and the French people especially with the changing political climate to the right.
Israel is doing well economically probably in large part because of US support and donations. But they too have political problems every bit if not a great deal more intractable than the French. I think Jewish emigration will increase in the short-term, but reverse itself in the long-term as Israel's own demographic issues become more prominent.
It's certainly not limited to those of Muslim faith.
That was not my meaning. France itself has not protected it's Jewish citizens, that is why they should worry, regardless of where the threat is coming from.
I've lived in France before. I speak French fluently and have since childhood, so no language difficulties. I didn't experience overt anti-Semitism there; I heard some people make remarks from time to time, but nothing more offensive than what I hear here in the US.

But no one here helped the Nazis round up their Jewish neighbors for extermination.
