From article: Accusing him of presiding over a regime that engages in “politically driven suppression of the news,” a letter endorsed by these groups cites a number of troubling issues.

The letter accuses Obama of blocking press access to administration sources; and when information is promised, it is often only released after publication deadlines have passed. Furthermore, the groups allege that the administration offers many details that should be openly available only on the condition that the source remains anonymous. “In many cases,” the letter states, “this is clearly being done to control what information journalists – and the audience they serve – have access to.”

They just don't like that he's giving them the cold shoulder. They could care less about him not being honest, not having principles or being involved in countless shady scandals.

It's their own fault. They didn't hold him accountable and licked his boots the first half of his reign so he doesn't respect them enough to give them any access to anything. They gave him the ball and he ran with it.

Default Former NBC Reporter on NPR: Media "Less Eager" to hold Obama Accountable than Bush

Former NBC Reporter: Media "Less Eager" To Hold Obama Accountable | Video | RealClearPolitics

She claims that the media encourages reporters to accept Obama administration statements at face value.

I think this is part of the reason why Obama is such a failure. Not being held accountable has allowed him to stray far from honesty, promises, etc without fear of any blow back of significance from the mainstream media and his own party.

GWB was reviled non-stop by the MSM when unemployment was at 4.3%. Today, with all the Obama administration's manipulations of the data, it's anyone's guess what the true numbers really are. But the MSM has a complete lack of curiosity about digging into the truth.

That 4.3% was at the start of his administration. That wasn't really what he was reviled for. Back then it was more things like having closed door meetings to let the oil lobby write the national energy policy or the failure to get any of our spy plane back from China. We basically handed them a blueprint for how to replicate it. He pretty much got a free pass on the failures to implement the counter-terrorism strategy handed to him by Clinton. Rice's comment was that they weren't given a plan, just a "list of actionable items" or a plan as other people would call it.

Bush got as fair of a shake with the media as he deserved and he didn't go out of his way to engage them unless they were Fox News.

Who are you kidding? Before you so blithely try to revise history, I suggest you actually do some reading and look at the articles written by the LAT, the NYT and the WaPo. There we were, in the middle of an economic boom and there was non-stop hand-wringing on front pages and the opinion columns about the unemployment numbers and "those left behind". Remember that phrase? You don't hear it very often now, do you, because Obama doesn't give a krap about the economy.

The MSM has it lips firmly attached to Obama's keister, whether through intimidation or agreement with his policies. They won't touch Obama and you people aren't even be honest enough to admit it.

I'm inclinded to agree with you, however, when the press turns against you, that is something really big.....regardless, I believe we all know how corrupt the media is, and what they do to stories and how they get them...they decide who wins the elections....we don't.

Obama is nothing but a creation of the media used in the same way a company promotes their products and now that Obama doesn't need the media to get elected / re-elected anymore .... Just like he is with Hillary Clinton. There was an agreement that Bill would promote Obama and Obama would in turn do the same for Hillary. Now that the Clintons outlived their usefulness to Obama he retracts.
