Taking someone's life is the ultimate in the government stealing freedom.

People who are honestly afraid of government power would not be in favor of that government deciding who lives and who dies because again of all the freedoms that the government can steal, your life is the ultimate freedom stealing.

So I'll say again for normal people when you hear conservatives saying they are terrified of the health care law because it steals freedom and they are afraid of big government, ask where that person stands on the state deciding who lives or dies. And get an understanding of the insanity of conservatives.

Oh conservatives don't trust the state on tax policy, or to administer a health care law, but they trust and cheer lead that same government deciding to kill people.

conservatives make no sense.
Not this one, but I'm not typical.

Honestly, when someone is going to end up dead for all time as a result of government action, what does it matter if it takes two seconds or two hours?

Clearly it matters. If a murderer tortures and slowly kills someone over a few days. That murderer will be treated differently by the law than a murderer who shoots someone and kills that person immediately.

So clearly the state taking two hours to kill someone is different than the state taking a few minutes to kill someone.

Shoot them while they are sleeping in their cell. That seems humane.

lot of people joking about bringing back the firing squad and hangings, etc. I don't see it as a joke. Why NOT bring back the firing squad? Why not bring back the electric chair? Do we really think pumping these thugs full of drugs is any more humane or "sophisticated" than pumping about 8 high caliber bullets in to their body? Uh, no, it's just cleaner, that's all.

Personally I think we ought to bring back drawing and quartering....

Keep in mind that Europe of the UN can make it next to impossible for any Medical drugs to reach the USA if they should choose to do so - we know this because they are already doing it with certain drugs.
We need some serious changes to our policies - we have forced too many essential industries out of this country.
You also have to remember that besides the US other countries have major drug companies. The UK alone accounts for one in five of the worlds major pharma drugs and then you have the Swiss, French, Germans etc.
So to be honest it's not a great situation if certain US states who have the death penalty cause a while raft of very effective drugs in relation to healthcare to be banned from the US.

Why are animal rights activists protesting or shaming these same companies.
Animals are generally only euthanised when they are terminally ill, and it's done as quickly and painlessly as possible and Animal Rights groups do complain about the slaughter of animals for food, and it should be noted that American hormone induced beef and bleached chicken is banned in Europel

In terms of healthy human beings, it's a very different ethical issue and if the Europe and other countries on other continents want no part in US Capital Punishment that is there own prerogative.
