there is already some more folks who have it in NY and I forget where else
I agree that many people are too complaisant.

But just to clarify, no one in NY or elsewhere has tested positive - yet. Currently, we have one Ebola patient who manifested with Ebola after arriving here. We have accepted several other patients who developed Ebola outside of the US and were transported here for treatment.

H1N1 is serious, but it doesn't have a 50-90 percent mortality rate. The vast majority of people who get the flu are inconvenienced for a few days and then back to their daily lives with no lasting effects.

Why HASN'T our government established even a temporary policy to prevent those with passports from west Africa from entering the US? It seems prudent to do so. An abudance of caution etc etc. Anybody (such as the military, health care workers from our own country who need to go there and come back) could be transported via military aircraft. They could also be quarentined more easily upon their return.

They also become immunized without mercury, aluminum, etc.

What 100 people? I've heard that up to 100 people are being monitored in the Dallas area, due to their contact with Duncan, but I have not heard that any of them are currently showing symptoms.

I do think that a 21-day quarantine, for any arrivals from the affected West African countries, would be a prudent measure. Not a 100% foolproof one, because there will likely soon be people from outside that area who contract the virus, but it would screen out the bulk of the current risk.

Where would they be quarantined?
How would you know, with certainty, that someone had been in West Africa?
