People are complaining about President Obama not going to Chicago in light of those shootings. Since when has ANY President cared what happens in the inner city? And this isn't limited to Chicago. What about New Orleans? Detroit? St. Louis? Baltimore?

I would think Chicago Obama would care about, but it seems he does not. Seems the media picks and chooses, which story to run with. And also puts drama into the story.

Something needs to give because it is not ok that blacks kill other blacks, this is acceptable to who exactly.
Unless the OP can show that those shootings in Chicago had federal overtones (e.g. depriving of civil rights) Holder doesn't have jurisdiction.

It's interesting that conservatives are for states rights when it is convenient and not for it when it can be used to bash Obama.

I never thought of that pattern, but I do see it now.

I think there was some kind of expectation that O and his adminisitration would help take care of 'his own' from a racial and location stand point, but it never happened. Why should the rest of the country give a hoot about what happens to poor black people in Ferguson or Chicago when the leader of the free world doesnt do anything about it.

I would add 'poor black people in these specific locations', as I don't know any Black, White, Hispanic, or other people that go around killing each other

Right, and if Obama made a point to focus on certain black issues the cons would go crazy, running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, hands flapping. They do it already about literally anything & everything the president does or does not do.

I've said this once before in another thread. This is 100% true, no one can dispute it but I know the folks in denial will.

I actually live on the west side of Chicago, and quite honestly, cyber-vultures trying to use the longtime ills of Chicago to score cheap political points is sickening.
One needs look no further than the OP's posting history to see how she really feels about poor people, especially poor minorities. Don't take my word for it. Go see for yourself.
In light of this and the fact that a vast majority of the shooting victims in Chicago are poor and black (or brown), her feigned outrage rings quite hollow.
