That's quite the resume. I think Obama has been a complete non-entity as a President, really.
But you honestly think it's worse than Buchanan, who invaded a sovereign state and removed their governor because he didn't like their religion? And whose inability to deal with current issues led to the civil war?
I'm very surprised that you think what Obama has done is worse than declaring war on a state and physically deposing its leaders. Can you explain?
A problem made much worse by Obama's policies. Here's the thing... Obama could have chosen policies that could have reversed the trend (which is what he promised voters he would do), kept the gaps at stagnant levels, or continued to grow the gaps to record highs. Obama chose policies that accomplished the latter. Is that what he was elected to do? Is that what Dems/liberals wanted?
Can you be a little more specific as to one policy Obama implemented that made matters worse and/or caused all this damage you claim is all Obama's doing? Again, specifics please!
Obama has these magical things called Executive Orders with which he can and has completely bypassed Congress. Several times. Such as the issue of illegal aliens allowed to remain in the U.S. What's his excuse for not doing so to halt the growth of the income and wealth gaps to record levels?
Hard to make sense of this question, but is the suggestion that the issue of illegal aliens and/or Obama's actions related to this issue has caused the income inequality gap to worsen?
That's Obama's job. That's what he promised to do if he was elected. Reducing income inequality was one of his major platforms during the 2008 campaign. Can you give any reason why he failed to do so?
Obama won election - twice - based on the promise to promote an agenda that he made quite clear. The ACA and leaving Iraq were "promises" he managed pretty well. The ACA almost didn't pass as we all know, but if the ACA had not passed, I dare say no one could have claimed Obama was the reason! As other comments in this thread have also tried to point out, Obama was elected POTUS. He is not king!
Obama also promised to promote an agenda that would address income inequality, yes, and he did. He did not promise that he would single-handedly reduce the income inequality gap. I mean, be serious.
I provided Obama's exact words before, exactly what Obama said with regard to income inequality.
I am not sure if it is a reading problem, a comprehension problem or just what kind of problem it is that causes some people to hear and think what they choose to hear and think, regardless the truth. No doubt confirmation bias is part of the problem, the problem of ideology preventing impartial objectivity, clouding judgment.
I only WISH politics were so simple and nice that if someone like Obama is elected based on the campaign "promises" to address our nation's problems, that those problems should therefore be resolved as "promised," no matter the opposition, no matter the circumstances, no matter what...
Obama's EOs on illegal immigration are acts of aiding and abetting the harboring of illegal aliens in the U.S. That is clearly illegal. The U.S. President does not have the authority to issue an EO that violates federal law. In fact, Obama himself should be prosecuted for issuing those EOs. He's directly committed federal offenses in doing so.
Yet another game of let's pretend we are legal experts, like so many conservatives have done with pride, branding the ACA unconstitutional, same with all things gun control.
Shouldn't be long now before Obama is impeached for committing so many felonies...
