Most college students are dumber than a bag of hammers. This is the result of the public education system which has been controlled by the left for 50 years.
And yet, some of the best levels of education in the USA are in left-leaning states. Some of the worst are in the South, a right-leaning area. The best educated state in the South in Virginia, left leaning state.
I say the reason so many college students aren't that smart is because in some places, education is being pandered to the lowest common denominator. And it isn't all uniform either.
But so far, the people I've met at college:
A) Don't know about the Holocaust.
B) The definition of 'Genocide'
C) Don't know about Mussolini, Stalin or Lenin
D) Persistently Watch Fox News and Say "I refuse to pay taxes because it goes to lazy people who refuse to work, like disabled people and women who constantly get pregnant" AND had a refugee say "we need to close our borders to stop people stealing our social security"
Sounds like you are going to a college for dumbasses. Pardon my french. Were I you, I'd look to transfer to a real college.
Include
E) "I never expect I'll get any of the social security I'll get deducted from my taxes. The baby boomers will bum off of me for all my life."
I've heard that one a lot, from college kids and working kids alike.
America has never been a nation to spend much time studying history. History as a required subject has been on the decline in schools for a very long time.
I've seen posters on the right say that history shouldn't be taught at all....that it's a useless subject. It should be business and civics instead.
They claimed nobody ever got a job knowing history.
One thing I ran into in college were students who frequently watched MTV. Stuff like the Kardashians, Jersey Shore, Flavor of Love, that stupid crap. I say we've always had stupidity in our society. Now it is just on TV in larger amounts.
I would also say this. People are taught about the Holocaust in schools, but not many kids pay attention.
What grinds my gears more than just college students being ignorant about the Holocaust, are those who deny it. Holocaust deniers make me so angry. Those individuals are not making such assessments based on facts, but on their own anger. They do it because they hate Jewish people. We have proof that it happened, we have photos(and photoshop didn't exist so those photos couldn't be faked), bodies were founds, WWII vets will tell about it too. Anyone who calls the Holocaust a hoax only does so out of anger at Jewish people.
They don't consider themselves conservative; They consider themselves progressive.
Most of them are international (Dutch, Spanish, British).
Wait a minute. You're saying that dutch students, who were occupied by nazi germany, don't know? You're saying that the brits, who suffered under a massive air campaign, and who died by the droves in europe, don't know?
I'm sorry, that is simply not a credible statement on your part.
Someone also said to me that the reason San Francisco has the highest suicide rate is because of the gays - because they know it's wrong and they're ashamed of themselves. But that was last month.

Yes. I'm hand on heart telling you this.
1x Dutch
3x British (1 knew, 2 didn't)
1x Spanish
1x Russian (who had Israeli citizenship/non-Jewish)
