California will have an initiative on the ballot for 2016 to end the death penalty. I think it will pass because we don't actually put anyone to death anyway--we just house them in super-secure super-expensive housing until they die of old age. So it's mostly a money thing.

I'm just hoping they don't do some weird--"well, since it passed, then everybody on death row gets to go home."

In California, you never know.
