The culture of ignorance helps both parties roughly equally. Probably helps Republicans a little more, because there are simply more white people in this country, but I'd say it's close enough. Not that it matters anyway. A vote for either party seems silly to me at this point.
Sorry to hear your candidate Quinn got fired. Next time champ!

Style is more important than substance. Republican candidates have a brand; they promote an image. Freedom loving, bible thumping, gun slinging, pure-bred Americans. That appeals to many people in this country. Appeal is more important than policy.

The reality (that no one will admit) is, none of the Republican candidates in the C-Span debates I watched these few weeks had any concrete agenda. They simply blamed Democrats for everything. Even Governor Brownback, pressured by disastrous tax cuts placed on the backs of Middle Class Kansas, prevailed by pointing the finger at Obama / Obamacare, and touting "patience... it will work."

It is really pathetic that our country is reduced to accusing the other guy as sucking as a policy platform. Not a single Republican laid out an agenda. They asked for trust.. and they got it.

Never underestimate the culture of ignorance in this country.
Great. Your post is too long. What you're really saying here is:

1. Democrats lost because people are stupid.

2. The Republicans won because people are stupid.

The Republicans won and they won big last night. The catastrophic losses by the Democrats are a sign that the American people strongly and soundly reject what has been happening in this country over the past few years.

The GOP has been handed the gift of time to get their act together. If they DON'T, then we'll be crying in our beers this time 2 years from now. Because if they don't get their act together and remember who they are supposed to be serving (us - in case you are not sure) the Dems will take it all back.

2016 is right around the corner. Let the games begin.

The testament in and of itself of what happened with the governorships, is a testament that Americans want no more Democrat Platform. And the BS that they feed their prey.

They are tired of the no Shame of blame games taking place constantly. Scare tactics they feel they must use on women, older aging population. younger generations. Guess what, all the money in the world, the Clintons, Obama's saying his policies were on the ballard. Their rude remarks on how Democrats should vote. People got tired of the Bull. Tired of the games, tired of the blame. And the people have spoken Period. No excuses made. People are smarter then Obama gave them credit.

They no longer want to hear Obama's thousands excuses.

HW Bush could pass as a centrist Democrat today. Both parties are corporatists. One likes to pretend they care about the poor, one likes to pretend they care about families and the middle class, but when it comes down to it they care about keeping the people who pay them happy. And the CIA and military industrial complex of course.
Spot on...

I'm hoping Keystone is at the top of their agenda. Then get the coal miners back to work and then let's become just like North Dakota where the blue collar jobs are plenty, not just in the industry but the other industries (construction, restaurants, real estate, hotels, etc.) that support the energy folks. The jobs are higher paying because they need workers. It will also give college students majors that translate to all kinds jobs after they graduate.

Your thought process is out in left field if you don't think for one minute a resignation or impeachment is coming before he's out in 2016.

Obama is a criminal & he will face the charges that are awaiting him.
Decades? The GOP controlled congress and the WH in 2003 to 2007 and spent like crazy...

Get off your moms computer

This team sports attitude surrounding American politics is a sickening development that simply shows how far we've come in achieving any significant political maturity. The GOP won some seats, big deal, did their supporters just go home and turn on the TV and resume their daily regimen of reality shows, sports, NASCAR, and shopping? Yes, for the most part, and they won't hold "their" team's feet to the fire any more than Obama's supporters held him to his empty promises of "change"..Government= A huge pile of money on the table, and everybody is watching----- TV.....

Over the last fifty years I've lived under the two parties I have yet to see a time of prosperity for working families that went beyond the rhetoric and promise of meager proportions. Jobs went overseas under BOTH parties watch, prices have risen to heights that have put housing out of reach for the working class families, medical costs are still out of the park for most workers, taxes are still too high for workers when compared to what the upper class contributes. This kind of lopsided treatment of the lower classes of workers is contrary to ALL of the politicians promises of a better life for workers.

Unemployment: Here's a good example of just how crazy people are becoming, on the one hand they know that BOTH parties have given the nod of approval to a mass of corporate work transfer initiatives beginning in the fifties, but they don't want government intervention so the government doesn't intervene, then they want the government to "do something" about unemployment. It is in this vein that the insanity of party politics continues while America is set up for a continuing slide to an inevitable darker future for our grandchildren.

I don't care who gets elected, but, whoever goes to work on a menu of promises without the oversight of those they made promises to we'll never see any meaningful change. Hold ALL politicians feet to that fire, every day, don't let up on the pressure you can bring to bear on your party, be it Democratic or Republican.
This is the truth! All those flying their flags, cheering their "teams" victory last night, and actually believing anything will change for average Americans sound foolish. The best thing Americans can do is stop falling for all the partisan BS. Corporate interests are well served by a brainwashed populace that is too busy fighting for their "team" to actually demand our representatives work for us.

I don't think that matters to TeamObama -- excuses and blame is all they do, it's because they can't admit they are wrong about anything.. TeamObama is going to think that 'cooperation' equates to the GOP led House & Senate give him what he wants. He will continue to call them the 'do nothing congress' when they don't give in to him. The GOP must get their messaging correct when they send the bills to the President for his VETO. Obama won't get everything he wants - he is more concerned about his Far Left Base than he is the American people. That's how he rolls.

When January of 2015 rolls around, there will be at least 28 Democratic Senators no longer in office that voted for ObamaCare in 2010. Think about that Dems ..... the party is being decimated by TeamObama in search of his "great legacy". He already has a "legacy" and it's not pretty.
