Same. The parents around here won't have any of this crap. Everything is fresh, organic, and cooked by good chefs. They have staff come in from the local pizzeria to make the pizzas on pizza day. Similarly to how they have the chefs from the local steakhouse come in on steak day. Utilizing local resources has worked out well for us.
I believe M outlawed Pizza day.

I remember when school lunches were both delicious and healthy. Oh wait, no, that never happened.
I still remember the cookies from elementary school that we would put on the table, then attempt to break by banging the trays into them (didn't work). I remember the grade x burgers of middle school. In high school they served exactly the same disgusting meal every day - a cheap dried out fried chicken thigh.

the gross looking lunch may not have anything to do with Michelle Obama's lunch program and more to do with incompetent cooks at the school. In the middle school I went to, the school lunches were absolutely gross (way worse than the twitter photos) and this was thirteen years before Michelle Obama's program was even in place.

The kids are suffering food tyranny of Michelle Obama, and they are fighting back online. Next they'll pull things off the shelf that Michelle Obama doesn't approve of and have us thanking "dear leader" for the food.
I remember similar goulash type food in high school, back in the 70's. It had nothing to do with politics then or now. Kids who were hungry ate it. The content of our hamburgers at that time was 50% oatmeal and were actually quite good. Many brought the dried out Bologna sandwich from home and tossed it.

A truly hungry child will eat what is put in front of them.
Parents are free to pack a lunch for their kids.
If it were up to me I would eliminate all school - provided meals.

Teens have two hands - they can't make their own lunch? I did when the school lunch was too disgusting to eat. Pre-Michelle Obama, by the way. #ThanksHillaryClinton ?
I was also on reduced lunch for part of high school due to financial struggles in my family. There were days I didn't eat because of the crap that was served - nary a vegetable in sight! No one cried over me.
