"A prominent gay rights activist charged last week with sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy is a strong supporter of President Obama who has visited the White House more than a half-dozen times in the past two years, visitor logs show. Terrence P. Bean, 66, who raised more than a half-million dollars for Mr. Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012, last visited the White House on May 30 when he met with the president, first lady Michelle Obama and political adviser David Simas."

Terry Bean, gay-rights activist charged with sex abuse, was Obama bundler, White House visitor - Washington Times

I expect President Obama to Gruber him any minute now despite the fact that Obama called him, "a great friend and supporter."

''Conservatives complain that President Obama gets a free pass from the media, which acts as a de-facto public-relations shop for the Democrat in the White House. Never has that charge seemed truer than now as an ugly rape scandal unfolds on the West Coast."

Shhhhh - Top Obama bundler accused of child rape: Column

Interestingly enough, the second link comes from USA Today who hired that woman from National Journal, who did a hit piece on Darryl Issa, with input from the White House.

A statutory rape charge is not the end of the world.

Unless you are NAMBLA, a 66 year old and a 15 year old is not some teenaged fling. The charges were sodomy and rape.

The question is why liberal news outlets, outside of Oregon where it happened, have bothered to mention it. It's a doubleheader -- there's the gay aspect that rings the PC duck and cover alarm and it involves a buddy of the President (and a big Democrat donor) who every time is involved in some scandal or mess makes the media who shelters him look like a bunch of jackasses.

It was apparently not coerced. It is the very definition of statutory rape. The fact that it involved an ugly old man makes it nastier to contemplate, but that is not a legal standard.

Under 16 it sure as hell is!

Of course, being a leader of the democratic party gay movement, he'll proudly wear it like a badge of distinction.

Statutory Rape Laws by State

Oregon:

Third-degree rape to have sexual intercourse with a person under age 16. Defense that the actor was less than three years older than the victim at the time of the offense Prison up to 5 Years

Second-degree rape to have sexual intercourse with a person under age 14. Defense that the actor was less than three years older than the victim at the time of the offense Prison up to 10 Years

First-degree rape to have sexual intercourse with a person under age 12 Prison up to 20 Years

If he goes to prison he is sure to enjoy his time there... a wig... some lipstick... he'll fit right in!
To bad he didn't cross state lines to have the sex because that gets really nasty.

I seem to recall people saying it was okay for female teachers to sleep with their male students... so... par for the course, what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Feel free to throw some more idioms in there.

FTR, this is statutory rape and should be equally prosecuted.

One of my brothers is a child molester. I haven't seen him in decades, but he is still my brother.

Do you think his actions should reflect on me? Do his actions make me a child molester?

What about all the years I didn't know this about my brother?

Was I wrong to fraternize with him before I found out?

Guilty until proven innocent is common stuff on this forum.

I wonder how many crimes have been committed by undisclosed Super Pac donors , regardless of team. That dark money comes from inside and outside the U.S., individuals and corporations. Not too different than the " angel funding" of ISIS.

I wonder if this will be one of those 'ongoing investigations' o will not 'comment' upon.
