I don't necessarily agree. Do parents play a role in our decisions to go to war and drop bombs on other nations? Many, many people support violence. There are people right now who wants the US to attack Iran or some other country, knowing that thousands of innocent children, women and men will be killed. There are people who support the death penalty. There are millions of people with conceal carry permits who do so to use violence to protect their lives. Violence was used to secure these lands from Native Americans. violence was used to subdue slaves. Violence is part of the human experience since before recorded history.
I do not think that it is parenting as much as it is culture....and in particular, the culture that forms from a prohibition environment and its impact on poor groups who seek economic opportunities by delivering prohibited substances to a demanding market for profit. The violence is born from market competition
just as it was during the era of bootlegging and prohibition. This is reflected in Hip Hop as drug dealing in th inner city has been seen as a leading source of income for many.
Money is the root of all evil, and capitalists are the root of all money. Eat the rich.

I'm sure if you went back in time to Steve Jobs' garage lab and said "If you invent this mass-market personal computer, you'll become a multi-millionaire", he would've scoffed and said "I'm not lifting another finger unless I'm going to be a billionaire paying a tax rate of less than 20%".

And Darren Wilson's parents should not have raised him to be racist. Racist parents should be charged with child abuse. Its an epidemic with some of you people.

Wierd how nothing I've seen in his many years of police service, on-line posts....anything seems to indicate he was racist.
