I'm sure...no, I'm positive...I'll get all kinds of grief for posting this , but I am pleased this happened! I truly thought AL would be one of the last states To quote a good friend of mine: Why should y'all be the only miserable ones? They were together for 30 years before they were married by a JOP (like hubby and I were) in MD and now have equal rights like the rest of us.

This will be my only post. Staying out of it. Won't even look at it to see how it goes.

Of course, it has nothing to do with anything Alabama did.

The decisions are just going state by state now as the federal courts deal with it I guess? I don't think the states have any say on this issue anymore. I don't understand what the rhyme or reason is, but it seems to me it's just a matter of time while they deal with each state marriage amendment out there.

Seems that since no state can properly defend why their anti gay marriage law is legal, why don't the Feds just ban them all at once and get this charade over with?

FYI the Federal Judge who made the ruling was a George W. Bush appointee.

I know, I just wish legislators would wake up. And I believe the supreme court is going to decide on the ongoing cases fairly soon.

It will all be decided this summer and then it will put an end to the laws banning it and people can just complain about it like Abortion, Healthcare, Civil Rights, but it will just be an opinion not a law that was enacted.
