That's not enough.

They want him to say that he's white. Nothing less will do.

One group?

There are hundreds of groups all over the world. One group uses technology and US media to instill fear, taunt and recruit whack jobs.

He threw a stone at ISIL and a boulder at Christians on their 'high horses.'

Then there's the whole global White Supremacy thing - people who claim Christian values.

Obama could have thrown all caution to the wind and talked about the Southern Strategy invoked by the GOP to appeal to the racism within the South- majority Christians that over time flipped the voting patterns of many Southern states. It eventually led to a formal apology to the NAACP.

Yeah, the Crusades was a safer choice than holding up a mirror to the audience. That some Christians were barbaric was not a reflection on all Christains- no different than how terrorists are not a reflection of all Muslims.
Yep.

It really fascinates me how even with the time lapse, some Christians are still so defensive.

That whole Manifest Destiny thing must still be strong with a whole lot of them.

What we call child molestation today was common stuff back then, regardless of religion or lack thereof.

Girls/ women were regarded as less than animals.

Muslims burned to death in Indian village in revenge attack | Daily Mail Online

At least four Muslim villagers were killed, three of them burned to death, when their thatched huts were set on fire during a clash between Hindu and Muslim groups in eastern India, a government official has said.

Tens of thousands of Muslims flee Christian militias in Central African Republic - The Washington Post

BANGUI, Central African Republic – Tens of thousands of Muslims are fleeing to neighboring countries by plane and truck as Christian militias stage brutal attacks, shattering the social fabric of this war-ravaged nation.

In towns and villages as well as here in the capital, Christian vigilantes wielding machetes have killed scores of Muslims, who are a minority here, and burned and looted their houses and mosques in recent days, according to witnesses, aid agencies and peacekeepers. Tens of thousands of Muslims have fled their homes.

My point, and I believe Obama's, is not to draw some kind of equivalency between the degree of brutality in the attacks. The point is that people of all religions engage in this type of activity and we need to find ways to stop it. It does no good to demonize a particular religion.
Ah, but it is so much easier to do that than to try to look at things objectively.

This fool is even worse than Bush in dealing with the ME as he is just outright excusing this islam based terror.

Heck he won't even man up and admit it's their religion that is fueling ISIS dream of a muslim caliphate in the middle east.Let alone mention islam and ISIS together without outright lying about what fuels this.

Never has a president this weak, divisive and delusional has led this country.
Literal translations of ancient words of men who claim divine inspiration and attempts to apply them to current times , trends extreme.

You obviously have no idea what medieval Christianity was like.
Papal immunity for all past, present and future sins was a terrific recruiting tool.

Did you actually read what you quoted?

The pertinent passage again:

"We see ISIL, a brutal, vicious death cult that, in the name of religion, carries out unspeakable acts of barbarism -- terrorizing religious minorities like the Yezidis, subjecting women to rape as a weapon of war, and claiming the mantle of religious authority for such actions."

Do you believe that the president is attributing POSITIVE attributes to this group with these words?

Really?

There was no such thing at that time. Children were not viewed then as they are now. Now, yes he would be a pedophile scum much like the majority of his followers in Dear Leader's ISIL.
