Any media "backlash" against Mr. Obama is due to his own activity. He was the darling of the media and was able to go largely unscathed for years, but his poor leadership has gotten too hard to ignore.

Back to your question -- definitely some is payback; or more accurately, the rubbish thrown at Bush just for having a Texas accent, the idiotic accusations that he "stole" the election, caused 9/11 and hurricanes etc. just made it acceptable to have extreme disrespect toward the presidency since.

First, Obama has no more of a cult following than Bush did (though Bush did lead a lot of followers right over that cliff in Iraq and into the economic ravine).

Second, your post calling anyone who supports Obama "a mindless cult member" pretty much precludes any type of credibility you might be given when contributing to the debate. No democrats believe that Obama can do no wrong--he has been criticized by democrats for various policies and actions.

Third, nobody, other than conspiracy nuts, ever accused Bush of causing 9/11 or hurricanes--simply stated the truth--that he initially ignored terrorism threats and mishandled the Katrina aftermath.

And speaking of hurricanes, the word is not "shutter."

Bush had a cult following and they were sufficiently creepy.

In last two elections one thing that they learned is that economy topped all social issues by exit poll results. it showed just how wrong polls can be by their very nature now days. I know every poll I get called on is like polls on forum with guided choices only. It wasn't a revenge thing; just bad choices by Democrats on issues as seen in certain groups like women and independents.

That is probably because they are not real polls, but rather political parties and issue organizations trying to get a read on you to see how and whether they should approach targeting you in an election.
