Dems in Congress could start running their own foreign policy too. There is a reason why things have always been done in s certain way, but GOP has done away with all that and created their own system.
No, they have not. But Obama has. Can you explain what "system" the Republicans have created of their own?
We have a Constitution, which Obama refuses to follow. But that Constitution is the Law of the Land, voted on by We The People. Obama is subject to our Law, and must comply with it.
Can't imagine this such a thing being done under Truman, Kennedy, Reagan, either Bush, even Clinton. It is yet another act by the most pathetic GOP representation in history, driven absolutely irrational and insane by the success of this President (who happens to be black).
Of course...because none of those you listed would deliberately violate our Constitution (well, maybe except Clinton) and would never, ever go into negotiations with terrorists that are traveling down the path to kill us and destroy Americas as fast as they can. Iran has refused to allow inspections, hidden secret facilities making fast progress to obtaining the nuclear bomb and would never allow anyone (country) to inspect anything they have hidden. Geez! We should never enter into any negotiation, treaty/agreement or anything else with such a totally untrustworthy government! That's what is insane.
Who gets to make these designations? The republican congress is destroying our credibility in the world.
Who?? Republicans??? No, no, no! Obama has destroyed our credibility and standing of strength upon which our allies can depend. He has cut and run at every call for our support. Wow!
Seems to me that this shows a dangerous level of disunity to a potential adversary. We might disagree at home, but showing our splits abroad is just stupid.
The GOP has shown themselves repeatedly to be ideological zealots who cannot see beyond their immediate self-interests to realize they are part of a national government. This is really beyond the pale.

In this case, yes. These were different circumstances. They were attempting to undermine Reagan Policy.
The current situation is different. They are not attempting to undermine Obama, but are merely advising the foreign leader that the U.S. Senate has advice and consent, and the deal cannot be done outside of Congressional authority.
Big difference.
Lol @ how much Conservatives will twist reality.
1984 Dems say "this is not an attempt to undermine policy," Conservatives see undermining policy.
2015 Rep that wrote the letter says "this is an attempt to undermine policy," Conservatives don't see undermining policy.
It's not even hypocrisy at this point, just straight up lunacy.
As you know very well, Obama has made clear he has no intention of submitting this deal to the Senate for approval, regardless of his lack of Constitutional authority to make a lasting commitment on a deal like this without them.
No deal exists yet to submit to Congress. The president needs to first find out if Iran would agree to work together before Obama can take anything to Congress.
Iran can read our Constitution online as easily as we can read theirs. Our Constitution plainly spells out that treaties require advice and consent of the Senate. The Senate pointing out the very temporary nature of any treaty/agreement they do not give majority consent to is being intellectually honest with the party with whom Obama is doing his solo entreating with.
Whatever deal he agrees to is nothing more than chit chat without the Senate's approval. It's called "legislative check on executive power" and it's by design, on purpose, working as intended.
It may seem like bad form, but the One Man Show aspects of Obama's presidency, especially in his second term, are so unprecedented, that we are seeing really unprecedented responses from the branch that is constitutionally required to check his power. Unlike Iran, we have no supreme leader.
