They left rather than be fired, Holder has nothing to do with their turnover.

No it won't. The entire judicial system became a cash cow for the city, using the black resents as the cow that got milked. The cops, by and large, were only following the orders handed down by the local magistrate judge, the chief of police and the city prosecutor.

Once that corruption is cleared away from top to bottom, it will be a much better place for the policemen who join the completely reorganized department. The cops will no longer face all the old hostilities that caused so much discontent, and they will be allowed to go chase real crooks instead of being required to devote themselves to writing traffic tickets and writing up trivial offenses. And it wasn't only the law enforcement part of the city government that was involved. The mayor, city council, and other city agencies were all involved as well.

The tickets themselves weren't the main source of city income. The judge made it almost impossible for people to go to court to pay the tickets, and the prosecutor commonly tagged everyone who was unable to present themselves in court with failure to appear charges, which carried ridiculously high fines. If unable to pay, the traffic ticket turned into other major offenses which carried even greater fines.

No one could mail in the traffic fine; everyone had to appear, period. Court began at 8:00; if a car was impounded and someone arrived by bus at 8:05, there was no entrance into the courtroom. The doors were locked promptly at 8. There were no alternate days set on the docket, and no way a person could simply pay the fine alternatively. If the judge didn't get to a person's case, the same person would have to go through it all again, sometimes for months at a time before the case was finally heard.

The whole system was so rigged it was almost impossible to escape without additional fines. Traffic was only one way the city used for income. Anyone who was walking around could be stopped and fined for a long list of other misdemeanor offenses, and end up in the same court with the same judge. This had been going on for many years.

The patrol officers were stuck in the middle of it, like it or not. Not all did like it, but complaining about a corrupt chief, judge and prosecutor is a sure way of never landing another job as a cop again anywhere.

The judge is now gone, as is the chief of police. It won't be long before the police force is majorly dismantled. Some will go, probably most, but some will stay, and those who stay will have a better and much more honest career in a town that will be much less angry and hostile.

I guess in the end Ferguson will be just another ghetto town with no private investment and thus people with no jobs. At least they got rid of the racists lol.

Let them police themselves 😂 there wouldn't be a building standing in a week and bodies would be laying in the streets over a pair of Nikes.

Now that the street animals are shooting them, they'll try to go work in a nice suburban neighborhood. The kind without beauty supply stores on every corner.

Because they're damned if they do, damned if they don't, and resigning gets them out of enemy crosshairs?

I think any white police officer in the entire St. Louis metro area is insane for reporting to work until they are begged, literally begged, by the community to do so. By community, I mean up to and including Barack Obama and his DoJ. And if the response if going Reagan PATCO on them, even better. Racism in St. Louis solved...just get rid of white cops. Done.

So, I guess your argument is that black people should not be fined for driving without a license or insurance. If they don't show up for court, they shouldn't have a warrant issued.

Are you one of those people that also believe if a black person tries to take you gun, presumably to shoot you, you should not protect yourself?

Seriously, if a woman, who happens to be black, doesn't show up for court on multiple occasions, should the court just dismiss her citations, send her a letter to show up when it's convenient for her or issue a bench warrant?

I think Ferguson should elect Kwame as mayor. He'd get it done.
