He also was one of the wounded in the Pentagon on 9/11.
What has 9/11 to do with doing tours in the Middle East? I don't see any connection.
Unless you believe that all the people in Iraq and Afghanistan have caused 9/11?
I also have no doubt that any father is proud of his son, but what has being soldier to do with it?
When I was a soldier I only respected the people inside the uniform, not the uniform or the rank. There are spineless officers who never earned my respect, but I did what was ordered simply because it was an order.
I've learned that being a soldier is just like being any other wage-slave; it is just a job, nothing more and nothing less.
Yeah, they are monitoring it but unfortunately they haven't been paying their bills so they might of missed this one. Hehehe... Homeland security is a joke... a joke told many times isn't going to be funny anymore...

Tricky
GreatDay's post was an impassioned reponse to the insinuation that all of our soldiers are dumb and spineless.
We're all veering seriously OT here and getting dangerously close to flaming, myself included. We should all rein ourselves in and get back to the topic or let this thread die.
You continue to demean our brave men and women in uniform
Hopefully, you do not call yourself an American, for your comments indicate you are not
I never said they are not brave. I just said that bravery is not a prerequsite to pulling a trigger. And I said that cowardice is not a characteristic of a person who gives his life for a cause he believes in.
When I look the words up in a dictionary, I don't see where it says that if an American and a non-American both give their lives in defense of a cause, the Americans are brave and the non-Americans are cowards.
I am an American, which just goes to show you how wrong you can be when you make knee-jerk judgments about people.

He is serving HIS country - not yours. He, and his comrade serve the people of the United States - proudly and with distinction. Our servicemembers do not consider military service like "any other wage-slave job". It is an advantage of being in a voluntary military
As for the rest of your post - clearly you would not understand what the United States Military - OUR brave men and women are doing - so, there would be no sense in trying to explain it to you
Suffice to say that true Americans are PROUD of our men and women in OUR military

I knew that, but going on a war on terror is in my opinion a mistake caused by passion.
And I never claimed that soldiers aren't brave, but neither are bakers or librarians. It is the individual who is brave, their profession has nothing to do with it.
But yeah, I guess I'm going off-topic here.
Sorry bout that.
Carry on.
