And do you honestly care about Affleck's ancestry? I highly doubt that you do.
So now we are moving from "stupid' to "honestly"
No, I actually don't care, but it does put a light on how those in Hollywood have always controlled what is said about them. That is until someone wants to use it against them. Pitiful they can influence and pay for their image, it doesn't come by honestly. Affleck did nothing wrong, but by hiding it, it came out anyway. This says something about him......

And that brings to light this topic, it isn't about the person or the subject, just an excuse to complain.
I don't think it had anything to do with guilt. People who live in the public eye must be very protective of their image. Anything can and will be held against them, so they learn early on to put up walls. Ultimately, I think this is just about self-protection, and given how much internet outrage the issue has inspired, I can't blame him for being gun-shy about revealing his family's role in such a sad period of our nation's history. BTW, I am a very active family historian, and this topic briefly came up in a local genealogy group. Everybody just shrugged their shoulders. We've all found skeletons in our closet at one point or another.

Yes, of course. And Affleck has made this 'skeleton' of his all the worse by his behavior. This has even been discussed on NPR.

Eh, I'm not bothered, no matter what his reasons for trying to keep it quiet. People are a mystery to me. Who knows what lurks in the recesses of other psyches? I can barely figure what drives me, much less Ben Affleck. In any case, I've wasted enough time on this subject already. Carry on.
PBS has postponed season 3 of Finding Your Roots after the investigation into the handling of Ben Affleck's episode. I guess it was a big deal after all.

It's tv, they will find something else to entertain people with.
