I never watch this show on PBS anyway. I like the show on another network, "Who do you think you are" and they tell people about their ancestors. It's a good show.

Do they cover every ancestor? Or do they edit for the ones they think will make a more interesting show?
Shame on anyone who was taking Affleck seriously to begin with. Seriously.
Every one of these Hollywood talking heads is no more or less informed on things than anyone else. Being pretty and charismatic does not make them policy experts, political science/economic/history academics or anything other than highly compensated pretty people.
Listen to Alice Cooper, and extend his words to actors or other celebrities:

Sage words, even if from a self-proclaimed "moron."

They usually focus on one ancestor and follow their story back to when they were born and how they lived, came to America, etc. I would hope they show their warts and all. That is more interesting.

Alice Cooper is a "conservative" despite him being an old school rocker.
"Is there anything about this documentary that IS true?"
"PBS documentary Finding Your Roots, already under internal review over claims it censored information about Ben Affleck’s slave-owning ancestors out of a recent episode, has again come under fire for inaccuracies after Affleck’s mother denied she was ever involved in the 1964 Freedom Summer."
What exactly did Affleck do wrong? I don't believe he owns or has ever owned any slaves.

I don't think the poster does or does he understand white guilt.....that some in Hollywood have.

Wasn't stupid, it's he was trying to 'hide' it. The others didn't and moved on.

And do you honestly care about Affleck's ancestry? I highly doubt that you do.
