Ben Affleck Pressured PBS to Edit Out Slave-Owning Grandfather in Ancestry Doc - Breitbart

I bet a lot of people have slave owners in their family if their ancestors are from the South. The celebrities who are on this show have a problem if they want to hide that.

Why would they have a problem since we are talking about their ancestors. Who cares.

Affleck seemed to have a problem, he wanted it censored and it was taken out.

You seem to be going around in circles. I don't think we should but he does.

Why is this an issue and why is it on the politics and other controversies forum? This sounds like it belongs in the celebrity forum section.

I thought owning slaves was racism? That is a topic talked about a lot in this forum but it could be in that forum as well. I thought it was hypocritical for the topic to be censored as well. It should be talked about.

To discuss why he wanted it censored. I guess if you are a celebrity fat cat it becomes ok to get something like that censored.

He is too young to have a Grandfather owning slaves, perhaps a Great Grandfather or Great Great Grandfather.
Why should it be talked about? It is not him, he is not involved, he did not choose for them to own slaves and unless it affects one's life or family directly it is really no one else's business. Besides the past is just that the past, it cannot be changed, altered, nor prettied up, it is and will remain as it happened.
