Its usually the opposite way around. People, especially those who already have racist tendencies, tend to discount the accomplishments of NBA players by just claiming its all a matter of genetics while praising scientists, engineers, lawyers, doctors, etc for their discipline and work ethic. As if shooting a basketball and dribbling are skills humans naturally evolved over 10000 years.
None of that is true. You actually just mixed two arguments, which usually are not mixed, to make it seem as if the arguments of people with "racist tendencies" are inconsistent.
People who are intent on arguing that everyone is a 'blank slate' will argue that both basketball players and high level professionals get there through hard work alone. People who believe that we carry certain inheritable advantages, and that some of those advantages are often more specific to one race or another, will tend to argue that people can be born with physical and/or cognitive advantages that can be augmented with hard work; but that the genetics largely lay the foundation.

It seems that one can get away with stating that athletic genetics are heritable by race slightly more than one can about any other theoretical or proposed advantages. It is rare that anyone would make the inconsistent argument that you cite when freely speaking.

Then every single corporation and smaller business should be able to say that about whatever the makeup of their workforce is, especially in the more professional level positions.

Exactly. It's no different than if you say heritable traits or genetics make males taller and more athletic than females. Progressive libs even try to argue against that. Proglibs must hate genetics and nature since it's not communist lol. But they are the tolerant ones supposedly.

Actually, "progressive libs" absolutely love evolutionary genetic! Evolutionary genetics have destroyed the whole concept of race with the study of population genetics. Just the fact that the study is called EVOLUTION-ary should indicate where progressives and liberals stand on the subject.
