This are fellow Americans-being legal immigrants or born citizens- they are just as American as you, they deserve the same rights granted by our constitution. Stop living in a hate filled bubble, toward people tha may look different from you. Their struggle is the same struggle many europeans faced when they arrived to the sates, or have you forgotten that;simply because of their shade of skin.
Illegal immigrants are not fellow Americans and I don't live in a hate filled bubble. I don't know why you assume to know me. My wife is first generation Mexican American.
When you have people and cities who intentionally ignore the laws; its attracts those who break such laws. The SF killer said he went to SF because of just that in an interview. Quite different being a US citizen and being a Mexican citizen just look at the laws in Mexico to see. The term American usage comes in fact for those outside the US who refer to Americans as US citizen especially starting with those immigrating early on.The song America the Beautiful wasn't written referring to south America dictatorships at time; it was clearly referring to USA.

Go back and re-read the post that you wrote, the one which I responded too. The articles talks about the education many Americans of latino descend are struggling with. This is not a latino problem, many Americans suffer from the lack of success in education. You trying to equate them to illegal immigration, through your passive aggresive jab at them.

The number show Hispanics are doing worse than other groups. It is hard for the group to succeed since so many start behind because ESL and cultural norms.
The illegal immigration is generally what pulls down the achievement rate of Hispanics on the whole and California does everything it can to promote illegal immigration.
How many people with degrees these days are actually getting jobs that require degrees? I realize it isn't good that Latinos aren't obtaining as many degrees as Whites but will it even help them if it isn't even helping the vast majority of the population?
In the link it shows that the drop out rates for Hispanics is around 11-12% and that it has been falling pretty steadily since 1995.
This is for the entire country and not just CA though but the article did not make a distinction and that figure - 50% drop out rate is pretty amazing to believe.

It's not just about not attaining a degree. Hispanics have the highest drop out rates in school, period.

No they are not "just as American as me." MY ancestors came here LEGALLY and BUILT this country from wilderness.
These hispanics, mostly mexicans, came here illegally, cause crime, take services, build nothng and "HOME" is where they or their parents came from.
Just being born here doesn't make you an American.
Fer cryn out loud cinco de mayo is bigger in Commiefornia than the 4th of July.
Is not racist to point out the problems of our American brethren,is not racist to look at our fellow American struggles, is only racist when you equate said problem to the shade of their skin, is racist when you think the problems they suffer is because of the amount of melanin in their skin, is racist to look at them and brush away their problems because of how they look on the outside.
And just who is looking at someone's skin color in determining the facts? So WTH are you talking about? Skin color makes one stupid? Um, I don't think so! Yet, some people like to pull the race card as if anyone is making such a ludicrous statement when they are not doing that.
