Since the article is left leaning meant to demonize the candidates on the right I will pass on it. Clown car?

Default Why Cleveland?

Why is both the first 2016 Republican debate and the Republican convention being held in Cleveland, Ohio? What's so great about Cleveland other than the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

If I was a suspicious person I'd suspect something foul was afoot. Obviously, Cleveland/Ohio makes money off of these 2 big events. Could it be some kind of payoff? Cleveland is not exactly the first place I think of where people go for a good time. Are they expecting Kasich to be the candidate and think it would be exciting to hold these things in his state? He did sort of mysteriously make the debate cutoff. (And I like Kasich)

Could it have something to do with Ohio being a swing state?

Yes, it is because Ohio is a swing state and Cleveland is a Democrat stonghold city. Without Ohio, there is no way for the GOP to win in 2016.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_R...nal_Convention
On April 2, 2014, the Republican National Committee announced that Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City and Las Vegas were the finalists for hosting the convention.[5] Cleveland was selected on July 8, 2014.

When I start following the rally circuit around the country next year, I suspect I will be based in Ohio for the most part. Probably the most important state for the GOP to focus on this presidential cycle.

Cleveland is at the crossroads of much of what comprises America. Nice city. Also OH is the perennial swing state.

It's a really cool city.

Unmitigated proof that there is some sort of conspiracy afoot here ... and Fox News is at the bottom of it.
