47 people were murdered in the WHOLE STATE of Utah in 2014.

A whole state...in a whole year.

Can you name me one incident of black-on-black crime that received anywhere near as much media attention as the Michael Brown case did? An incident not involving a celebrity?
The point is, why give less attention to an immensely worse problem?

Exactly.

Apparently people can't call attention to one issue without also calling attention to all other issues at the same time, lest they be accused of not caring about anything but that one problem.

Or the people making such a breathtakingly stupid argument are just a bunch of racists desperately trying to downplay police abuse of minorities.

So you see no reason why a government official slaughtering residents unprovoked would generate more national attention than gang feuds that have been happening for generations
I can't help you if you think these are comparable situations.

Why do you need a scapegoat to shift blame from government employees? Who are you protecting by changing the subject?

Black lives matter is political and only apples in the case of a cop or if a Confederate Flag is involved. All lives matter.

And guns. El Paso has lots of guns.

No, the point is that some people do only call attention to black shooting victims when they're shot by police or by a "white-hispanic" neighborhood watch guy. For instance, at my school some people put up a "black lives matter" banner after that Michael Brown mess. We're in the middle of a city, there are always plenty of black people being killed killed within a few miles of the school. But I never saw any "black lives matter" banner for any of them. Strange how that works out.

Your original point was that black-on-black crime receives plenty of media attention. Now you're claiming that it shouldn't, or something. You're all over the map. But anyway, yes, they are comparable situations. Someone was shot dead in the street. I don't want shootings going on in my neighborhood, I don't care if it's being done by police, thugs, or the jolly green giant. And since there are faaaaaaaaaar more shootings done by thugs, it's a faaaaaaaaar worse problem.
You must have never lived in the hood, if you think like this.

Ha. I live with black crime everyday. There's a massive difference between our tax dollars used to slaughter people for selling cigarettes or carrying a toy gun around a store and the sad realities of a desperate, broken culture. Huge difference.

The fact that you apparently don't bother to follow what's happening in your community doesn't mean others don't care about things like gang violence.

A cop gunning down an unarmed black man gets some attention. Concerned citizens holding routine meetings with police and school officials to try to curb violence in their communities generally doesn't make the front page. Rallies against this sort of violence don't get much attention either. That doesn't mean they don't happen.

Racists just want to focus on the black on black violence and pretend that no one cares, when in reality people are working on that problem all across the country every single day in just about every city of any size. The media just ignores it, either because they don't see money in it or because they're also desperately trying to push a racist narrative.
