Ron Paul's "crazy" ideas about government (no income tax, legal prositution, legal drugs, formally declared wars, etc.) were the norm in this country for most of its existence. Why do people act like he's crazy?
Because most Democrats and Republicans believe in big government. Democrats admit they like big government, while Republican are still in denial, but actions speak louder than words.
I wonder if it's because he was in Congress for many decades and ONLY ever passed ONE piece of Legislation - funding for some local park or something. He talks a good story, convinces a lot of kiddos - BUT, he has no accomplishments at all. Other than Razzle-Dazzle Rabble Rousing of course.

Laws are accomplishments only in the sense that someone's freedom is being taken away. Ron Paul was a lone voice in limiting government, this fact is always lost on the statists.

The problem with Ron Paul is his ideas and policies is that they are harmful to all but the few Americans who live in barren wide open spaces like West Texas where if you want to ignore other people, do what you please or not pay for projects that keep a metropolitan area alive there are no consequences! For the large majority of Americans Paul's ideas and those of his son and heir are bad news!
I don't think his ideas are crazy, but I must admit his personality and appearance are not his greatest attributes. He comes across as a bitter, rambling zealot. Not that that really bothers me, but I can see how it could turn other people off.

Good for him. What's your point? Name an "accomplishment" that he could've been a part of.

1. We have income taxes because Tariffs are so low, if you want to raise inport tariffs, we can like Donald Trump wants and pay an extra 70 dollars on your new TV,10 on your toaster, 20on the blender,100 on the stove or Fridge.
2. prostitution is not illegal on the federal level. It is up to the states to make it legal
3. Some Drugs,he was right there.
4. War is a state of being, not simply bombing a place. temporarily nationalizing industries, rationing resources, and so on. We havent been at war for decades.
