Two teenage boys were beaten within inches of their lives [and one later succumbed to his injuries] by a bunch of fanatic Christians so they might "confess" their sins. Absolutely disgusting.

http://nytimes.com/2015/10/15/nyregi...ws.google.com/

“Both brothers were subjected to physical punishment in the hopes that each would confess to prior sins and ask for forgiveness,” Chief Michael S. Inserra of the New Hartford Police Department said at a news conference on Wednesday.

What a disgusting an foul religion would promote something like this? We should burn the bible and outlaw any Christian immigrants from entering this country because they clearly are all violent maniacs.

Sounds like something one of the Syrian refugees would say.

Threads like this are sad and probably not for the reason the OP would believe.

If you think Christians are violent maniacs, then you really don't want the muslims here, because they make the Christians look like pussycats.

Dead is dead. The "beatdown" ended in the death of one of the brothers. He suffered for hours. I doubt that he would have considered one way of dying "better" than the other.

They may call themselves Christians, but they sure as hell weren't acting very Christ-like! But go ahead and carry on with the generalizations that all Christians act in this manner!

Christianity may as well be defined as a belief system that calls for people to say 'but look at those Muslims' whenever anyone criticizes something horrible they do. Which is typical. That's basically every religions history, when it comes down to it. People always say **** like 'well, yeah, the Muslims are bad now but the Christians were just as bad 600 years ago" which is true, but they usually use that to say that Islam will eventually mellow out. And it might. But that process is not inevitable. Christianity didn't mellow out due to some natural progression that religions follow. People called the church out on it's **** and put enough pressure on it to force it to change. It's stupid to think that the church wouldn't still be executing homosexuals and intellectuals if people hadn't forced it's hand.

Islam is in the same boat, but someone has to force it. I'm only saying this so conservatives won't whine about my bias.

Christianity is a plaque on humanity. People give it undeserved credit. Every sweeping step Christianity has ever made has been a result of a non-literalist and secularizing movement within Christianity. At no point in time has a traditionalist view of Christianity (or any religion) been something that drives humanity forward. I don't get surprised when I hear stories like this. I wonder why we don't talk about it more. I mean, to me a gay kid kicked out of his home by his delusional parents is more newsworthy than anything happening in Syria. We all know ISIS is insane but a lot of people seem to be in the dark on the insane actions of American Christians, and that is the real atrocity here.
