You lose. I am Conservative and I served. So did many of my fellow Conservatives...so no, we aren't sending our kids off, it's OURSELVES.

I've sent one son and am about to send a grandson. Please educate yourself before making sweeping generalizations regarding those more conservative than yourself.
Reading comments on this forum and elsewhere on American boards and sites, it seems like people support and care so much about veterans which is good to an extent but think about it twice - why put so much money into military and vets that cost tax payers billions of dollars when the authority could think twice and maybe perhaps stop putting so much money and invest in your own country instead? Why does America need to spend so much money and why not spend as much money as Canada, UK, Sweden, France, Germany and other countries does?! I also think that some vets who join the army are lazy individuals who go for the easy way getting free housing, college education, support, etc. by risking their lives rather than doing like most other people working on their own and pay for their own stuff. Don't get me wrong or offended, but would never allow my child to join the army to go the easy and lazy way around getting free 'living' without an education and regular hard work, no freebies!

Anyone that believes joining the Military and Serving their Nation is the easy route has never served themselves meaning your comments are based on ignorance and not actual knowledge.

No one sent my Father, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Sons or Myself off to fight anywhere or anything, everyone of us Joined. Oh and every one of is considered to be a Liberal.

Aggression will always exist and we must have those who stand ready to defend against it.
War is hell, and no one comes back from it the same.
Many people joined the military so your kids don't have to. Think about that for a second before hurting others, no need to put others down, especially when your information is absolutely untrue.
I've NEVER met a "rich" Marine and I know many of them. I really don't know what "freebies" you are talking about, if there are any, please do tell, so I can tell them to get some.
I lived and worked in a "military town" for over 20 years. My husband served, his father served, his mother served, many of my friends served. God Bless the Military!
Personally, I think the reason Canada, UK, Sweden, France, Germany, and other countries don't have to spend so much on their military is because they have the good old USofA to protect them.
