I've never used Uber, but the attacks really had nothing to do with Uber. What was his profession besides Uber? The guy cracked, sad, but that is the truth of the matter.

He was an insurance adjuster and only worked for Uber for two weeks, had passed their background check. Uber is part of this story because he picked up passengers in between the shootings and scared the crap out of a few of them with his reckless driving. One couple wouldn't get in his car because he was driving a car that matched the description of the one the police were looking for. He was caught minutes later. Uber is cooperating and gave the police information about all his pickups that night so they can talk to them. They still don't know what set him off.
