I'm all for the complete banning of firearms but I don't think the military, feds or police would ever give them up. Neither would the citizens if it came to that. And the criminals certainly wouldn't.

His family says he had no history of mental illness and nothing going on in the family to stress him out or be angry about. He's still not talking about why he did it.
Like with everything else, I see a time, when an overwhelming majority of Americans will decide the price is simply not worth and they don't want to tolerate the madness anymore. The change of heart is already on the way, but it may still take time.
Banning. How do you find 330 million weapons. Half of them don't even have serial numbers and they aren't in any database. Do you create Nazi style, door kicking troopers? I don't think you'll find anyone brave enough to take on that job.

Not to mention a large percentage of local law enforment personnel that would resist it.
