Some groups are now going after voter registration requirements to provide proof of citizenship.
The League of Women Voters and NAACP have filed lawsuits saying it's discrimination to ask for proof of citizenship when you go to register to vote.

So no Voter ID when you vote and no proof of citizenship when you register to vote.

The groups say providing proof of citizenship is an "obstacle" for eligible voters.

I have no idea how people manage to function without some sort of ID. They don't drive? They don't have a bank account? They never attempted to buy alcohol? They never had a loan? They never cashed a check? They were never employed in a legitimate business? They never applied for welfare?

Who are these people?

And none of them are on welfare because you need to show both ID and citizenship to get it.
That even applies to illegals who need their anchor baby birth cert to get it.

I wonder sometimes what the bigger agenda is here.

It's like you can be whoever you want and no one will question you.

This isn't a proposal that anyone is taking seriously.
But you know it is headed there. Just look at the trend lines. Driver licenses, municipal ID cards, free public education...Can voting be far behind? Although I am not sure if a city has the right to override the constitution (although they are doing it)

Sounds great to me!

With more illegals with HIV and other STD's it won't be long and we'll work our way into being a third world country which is exactly what the left always wanted.

HHS: Immigrants with HIV, STDs welcome

And here you thought I was kidding.

Municipalities have the right to create their own sufferage rules unless the state constitution prevents it.

The US Constitution is applicable in only Federal Elections. State rights, you know.

All sorts of bills are introduced at the local level. Most go nowhere, fast.

illegals compromise about 20% of NYC (as of 2013 study) so I imagine it's higher now in 2016.

That's a lot of people to NOT want them to vote for you.
Any party that gave illegals the right to vote could easily stay in power with those numbers.

The constitution states you must be a citizen to vote.
