Democrats control the polls, they make them come out the way they want.

Then why was Obama so low during certain times during his Presidency? And why was George W. Bush so high pre-Iraq?

Because Trump supporters are like Trump - they just make stuff up.

Ken

And anyone who doesn't just believe them and take them at their word is considered an unhinged demon possessed freak. I hope to one day wake up from this nightmare called America in 2019.

What we have right now, in essence, is a nationwide version of a group of schoolyard bullies holding the entire playground hostage.

IMO because trump's support is based on his personality and not on his actions or policy. if the reverse were true then we'd see more dramatic fluctuations in his approval numbers corresponding to specific actions, statements or events ( like past presidents ).

Obama enforced more business regulations than any President in history.
And Trump has already removed more business regulations than any President in history, and continues to reverse Obama's anti-American legacy.
Trump also removed the Obamacare Individual Mandate, when he delivered Tax Cuts (which included the lowering of Corporate Tax from 35% down to 21%).
And that is why Trump's actions are always superior to Obama's actions - he's undoing Obama's anti-American legacy.
Also, Obama couldn't even deliver Criminal Justice Reform, and African-Americans wanted that more than anything.....so Trump delivered it.

Mueller impacted Trump's numbers, but Impeachment isn't having any impact....
Trump current average poll = 43.3
Trump September 2018 average poll = 40.1
Trump November 2016 average poll = 43.6

And Trump's numbers weren't too low when the Mueller report was released (April 2019).
The 40.1 was September 2018, when nobody knew what was in the Mueller report, and Fox News legal "expert" Judge Andrew Napolitano was speculating Trump Junior and Kushner may be indicted.
That impacted the midterms.....but Republicans still won Florida governorship and senate.

I think you're on to something here.

Watching the House Judiciary Committee hearings yesterday, I was struck by how Republicans were presenting themselves as "characters" rather than serious legislators.

Admittedly, they had a weak hand to play, as there was no denying that Trump had illegally withheld security aid authorized by Congress in order to bribe Ukraine into helping him with his campaign.

But instead of defending him, Republicans acted like this was a joke, making ridiculous grandstanding speeches, interrupting, interjecting odd comments, ...

I couldn't help but wonder why they were playing the fool when video clips of their bizarre performances will obviously show up in campaign ads running in a few months.

Then it struck me that this is what appeals to the Republican base, the folks that vote for Roy Moore.

Do you want to bet that Trump is a lock to win re-election? Proceed with this sophomoric "impeachment" charade and it will be even more likely Trump is going to win re-election.
