He's referring to the left dismissing electoral college vote because it elected and will re-elect Trump. Unfortunately for them, this is exactly how the framers intended things to work. The United States is not a direct democracy (the mob), it is a democratic republic. Concentrations of people cannot dictate the governance across the vast majority of the land
Actually, the framers of the Constitution said that the purpose of the Electoral College was to prevent an unsuitable person like Trump from becoming President. They thought that the electors would not cast their votes for someone like him. But it's clear that it was a bad idea and they didn't really know what its effect might someday be.

The Framers knew the name "Trump"?

Not when the rules don't jibe with the results some entitled people who want to be the "permanent government" want.
One of the absolute marks of genius by our founding fathers was to clearly recognize that things would change in the future and that what they set into motion with our constitution could be amended to make it flexible enough to remain relevant.
The 18th century EC will go the way of the dodo bird. Maybe not soon. Maybe not all that far into the future.
trump's RCP is at 44.3% approval today. while that is a slight increase over last week ( and his disapproval took a drop to 52.9% ) it's still within the comfort zone ( 42.7-44.7% ) that trump has primarily been in since may 1, 2018
today's rasmussen: 46% approval to 53% disapproval.
