The young people of JFK's day rushed to volunteer for their country. The new agency he created, the Peace Corps, was wildly popular.
Excellent post.

You hit the nail on the head.

So I wonder, if he were POTUS now, would he have been as loved?

JFK would be kicked out of today's Democratic Party. He was nowhere near as far to the Left as the Bolsheviks running the party today.

You are a victim of the principle, never speak ill of the dead because at the time politics were extremely polarized. We were just emerging from the McCarthy era, the John Birch Society was the vocal Tea Party of its day and the South was in open revolt against the Federal government. Oh, there were some very ugly political currents at the time.

I see what you did there!

You stopped at an idiotic post you agree with, responded with praise and 'skipped' the rest!
(Are you now back in your 'safe space'?)

No they don't. If they really believed that they would pay more... now... voluntarily. Anyone can voluntarily send a check to the US Treasury to pay more taxes right now.

But they don't. Instead they wait for the government to mandate it... THEN they pay.

They SAY they want higher taxes and that this would be good for the economy, etc... but they never ACTUALLY DO IT VOLUNTARILY.

And they still take their deductions every chance they get.

That will never happen. The Left in the US is down to 1 and only 1 argument: Everyone we disagree with is a RACIST.

It is LITERALLY their only argument today. It's the only thing they ever talk about or bring up in any debate.

It is impossible to overstate the stupidity of their situation.

Hmm...where dos the tax money come from?
Thin air?

We are taxed to the bone and even taxed on what we pay into SS on top of it.

From all the comments here, it looks like everyone really liked JFK. Nice to see.

Of course, he likely admired him for his inability to remain faithful in a marriage commitment.
