I agree. I'm gay and I do remember a time when seeking to identify as gay was important, and it did mean something. But with marriage equality and a very rapidly changing society, I just don't feel a need to wear that, or any, label. I live in one of the nation's most liberal cities in perhaps the most liberal state, and in my circle, I see less and less desire, need or inclination to self-identify. It just doesn't matter around here. As a consequence, I have more straight friends, which sort of just recently happened. That said, I can't imagine any straight person in PVD saying what was said at the baseball park.
Now if only Gay Pride would rebrand its name. Again, it meant something at one time and was important to us, but it's getting creepy, it's starting to conjure images of Aryan Pride... or something equally exclusive and propagandist.
Yes it's a stereotype. Jim Nabors most certainly never sounded like a girl. A pretty amazing voice.

I have told my straight guy friends "that is so gay" many times. I don't dare saying that in public. Afraid I might end up being the bigot on youtube.com lol
Fans will be fans, but the real question is; was the wrong recording that was played and honest mistake, or malicious intent?
