The other day a 15 year old girl was shot while driving on Lake Shore Drive, well actually she was a passenger and the driver had known gang affiliations. She died , and her mother was crying on TV saying how she didn't know how that could have possibly happened. Her 15 year old daughter was out with a gang member at 1:30 a.m!She was innocent, but yet again she wasn't . Not like the woman who was shot outside Starbucks a week ago who had absolutely no gang affiliations what so ever, who just happened to buy a damn coffee at the Starbucks right next to police headquarters.

Read my earlier post in this thread about how it's women's parenting that leads to this foolishness. A father wouldn't let his daughter be out at 1:30 AM, let alone with a boy. Fatherhood in the hood > motherhood in the hood. Because most of these screw-ups, thugs, etc. are raised by single mothers. Fathers discipline and set things straight. Mothers are the ones that start the "he was a good boy!! he shot up the store but he was a good kid!". Fathers don't do that mess, because they're not naive.

That is a falshood.
NYC is by far the largest city, but LA is there based on how wide its city limits is,just like Houston.
there are 3,000 more people every square mile in Chicago than there are in LA. and LA is 240 sq larger than Chicago(double the size).

its isnt really fair to compare the 2 that way.
Ok, so then take LA out of the equation since you claim it's not a fair comparison. NYC has more people per square mile than Chicago, is much larger, and still has lower total violent crimes and a lower violent crime rate than Chicago.

As I said in my previous post, there are 18 cities with populations of 250,000+ with higher murder rates than Chicago. 23 cities with higher overall crime rates with 250,000 or more people.
These cities include Miami, Detroit, Philidelphia, Indianapolis, Washington, and Houston. All prominent large cities in major metro area.
Chicago becoming the focus of conservatives has to do with the President's relationship to the city and nothing more.

That may be why conservatives focus on Chicago, but the media is the one consistently reporting Chicago's crime problem. Is all of the media conservative??
As an Independent who moved to Chicago a few years ago and loves the city, myself and many others here could care less about Obama's connection to the city. My focus is that if a city as big as NYC, which had historically bad areas is Bronx/Brooklyn/Queens, can have lower violent crime numbers; why can't Chicago improve?
I know several people who live here who love Obama, and they are just as vocal about Chicago's crime. Nothing to do with Obama.
