If companies were selling poison baby food, would the answer be raising taxes on poison baby food to reduce demand?

If the UN and the political leaders really believed the AGW prophecy that would lead to millions of deaths, wouldn't they call for hard caps instead of " sure you can go over if you'll pay a tax"?

Didn't you hear? Donald Trump claims that it is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese to ruin the US economy. That's about as ridiculous as your conspiracy theory.

But seriously, any credible scientist will admit that models can be flawed and that there is no such thing as 100% proven theory. Those who are treating AGW as a "religion" I suspect are politicians. Just as the politicians on the other side that cry "hoax", we should leave it to the experts in the field to tell us if the climate is changing, knowing that they could be wrong but, given all the information we have today this is what they think is happening. I couldn't care less whether Al Gore or Sean Hannity think global warming is real, since they have no credentials to offer an opinion.

Where politicians should get involved is to debate what to do about it. Should we take aggressive action in case the scientists are right? Or should we do nothing because they might be wrong? Things like carbon taxes and regulations have economic consequences, so we need to decide what the right balance is.

No, of course I’m just kidding. The reaction to these mild assertions is often to brand the lukewarmists “deniers†and treat them as if what they were saying was morally and logically equivalent to suggesting that the Holocaust never happened.

Many of them still do not appear to have noticed, but this tactic has backfired on them pretty spectacularly as well. Who could have seen that coming? {sarcasm}
It is a witch hunt mentality. Or the McCarthy ear communist hunt.

The only solution is to lower CO2.
And how they ignore the next phase of sea level rise, global cooling.

If you want to make headway against them you need to use their logic against them.

  3. They have tainted the very name "science" by trying to ascribe religious attributes to it, making compliance with the beliefs of this faction effectively a matter of faith and those who dare to question and challenge it effectively heretics.
The article below from Bloomberg covers these points and more. There is another section on the "denier" name calling tactics that I also wanted to quote, but the mods here frown on too much quoting, so I hope this quote below is enough to wet everyone's appetites for more.

In any case - to the AGW alarmists. You are doing it wrong.
How about some truth?.....In the US according a Gallup poll published March 16th 2016, 65% believe that global warming is happening, and is caused by human activities..... 59% believe that the effects of AGW have already begun.....64% of Americans are worried about global warming..... U.S. Concern About Global Warming at Eight-Year High

All these figures are up substantially from a similar poll taken in 2007....

The Earth's climate has always been changing. So hearing a bunch of government funded lackies taking note that the Earth's climate is changing, as if that were somehow unusual, is in itself cause for skepticism not only about their motives, but also about their competence, and therefore about their supposed "expertise" as well.

And if we have learned anything from the promotion of the left's AGW alarmism agenda, it is that our so-called “experts” really do not know very much about the Earth's climate at all. Certainly not nearly enough to warrant restructuring our entire economy and giving control of that to them, which appears to be the real purpose of this movement.
