The TV has been being used as a public opinion manipulator for decades. People that claim TV & movies are just innocuous entertainment are naive.
Once you start looking for the cultural manipulation you can see it everywhere
The ones that get me are the “Home Security” commercials.... All the perps are white guys and the security guy is a black guy.
Even if they have white folks in them, the male is always depicted as a loser.
And in one case 'both' the white male and female are depicted as idiots while their black (male and female) neighbors look on in fascination.
It's the one where the white folks are pretending to be too busy to inquire on their homeowners(?) insurance.
He is knocking over and refolding laundry.
She is dirtying up and cleaning windows.
He is throwing dirt around the room and shaking leaves from the trees to rake.
Black couple can only shake their heads.
If you've seen it .. you know the one!
Watch for the Muslim propaganda ones next.
One I've seen was for Chevy trucks (what's more American than a good ole' Muslim boy driving a Chevy pickup?)
Soon they'll start slipping them into TV shows - the friendly Muslim next door neighbor or coworker, with the occasional episode where the harmless, good hearted Muslim across the street is victimized by some narrow minded bigot, etc.
Too: Same sex couple commercials are here and there are many.
