WTF? Taxpayers pay into the system through a payroll tax and gets the benefits of having paid time off to say goodbye to a dying parent or bond with a newborn baby instead of having to slave around at work while life passes by. Whats so great about getting fired because your dad dies? Whats so great about 1 month old babies not seeing their mother because she has to work?

The US is the only country in the world apart from Papua New Guinea that doesnt have a paid family and medical leave program.

Horrible! Just awful! We want tax breaks for the billionaire class! When do we want it!? Now! Why do we want it!? Because it has worked wonders for 40 years!
Wait while I get a tissue.

Nothing is great about it. But at the same time, its not my responsibility to pay for it. Open a savings account for times like both examples you mentioned.

Everyone pays for it. Just like the roads and parks.

You cant open a savings account because you will be fired from your job for taking leave. There is no protection for workers. On average, Americans have the least parental leave of any developed country. Children suffer greatly as a result. Same with saying goodbye to a dying parent. Americans are simply forced to work. A paid family and medical leave gives life-work balance to the American worker. An overwhelming majority of the American people support it. Majority of Republicans support it too.

I didn't see the speech in question, and you didn't provide a link.

But if she made a mistake like you say, then I dont see the big deal.

An interesting aspect of this though...
She has been repeatedly saying she is going to "provide tax relief" or "cut taxes" for the middle-class.

Only saying you are not going to raise taxes for the middle class is very different from saying you are going to cut taxes.

While obviously saying you are going to raise taxes (if it were real) is a huge platform reversal, saying that you are only not going to raise taxes and no longer provide tax cuts is also a pretty major platform change!

No kidding. If you can't raise your children completely on your own, you should choose not have any children. It's disgusting to ask the taxpayers to pay for your own children.

Slave? When a person has a choice, that person is not a slave. Go open your own business and be the boss for yourself and do whatever you want.

The rabid right...

So easily led.

Given the context of her statement and the audience's positive reaction to it, it appears that Clinton actually said "we aren't going to raise taxes on the middle class,"

Hillary Clinton: 'We're Going to Raise Taxes on the Middle Class' : snopes.com

Only other rabids buy into this fairy tale. But then, nearly all the right's "issues" are imaginary.
