I can't stand him but he is personable and just by being there, it shows he cares. He has showed up in the past when disasters like this occur.

You are mistaken, Obama criticized the response to Katrina he did not criticize Bush specifically, he called for an investigation into the response as did others. Yes the media was critical of Bush's delayed visit same as Obama. Keep in mind that Katrina was one of the largest natural disasters in terms of fatalities (1800) and property damage.

No - all he had to do was be there before a candidate. He is after all the POTUS.
If he was there before Trump it would be a non-story.

Maybe if Hillary can get enough rest between her press conferences (265 days and counting), she'll make a token visit like Obama.

Mr. Trump has a very good chance of winning the Presidency this time around. ... The DINO oppositions excessive controversies, disturbing scandals, telling those excessive number of whoopers, bungling of several vastly important foreign policy issues (One in Particular !) Those damn emails ... and now questionable characters as aids !!! ..... and on and on and on and on it goes..... Anyone in their right mind must with certainty deduce that these horrendous controversies are much more than enough to produce a most negative and untrustworthy personal opinion of said career politician ... candidate for President ! ... I am planning on voting for a non-politician this time around ! ... I think loyal and patriotic America citizens deserve a much needed break from the acute arrogance, amateurish bungling, and horrific ineptitude of so many of the current career politician crew! ...( they have a most disgraceful tendency to forget that the American People are their bosses and not the other way around) ! So Mr. Trump it is ... God Speed Sir and may the victory be yours! ..... Old Sgt. Lamar Says So !

Yeah and you had no problem with your President not releasing his college transcripts. And your President was actually forced by Trump to release his birth certificate well after being elected.

No one cares about Trumps tax returns except you Hillary supporters.

I wanna see Hillary's health records myself.

Now Trump set's the standard for a presidential visit, hurricane recovery isn't a sprint it's a marathon. We still haven't fully recovered from Sandy, arguing over who got theri first is childish minutiae.

It is a non-story. Only to those who refuse to accept reality think it's a story. How many times does someone have to post video of the governor himself saying that he wanted Obama to hold off on visiting before it finally sinks in with some people?

Of course it's childish. But, that's Trump & his followers mentality. Par for the course.

According to one Fox article (Obama visits flood-damaged Louisiana after criticism he should have come sooner | Fox News) they quoted Obama as saying: “One of the benefits of being five months short of leaving here is I don’t worry too much about politics,”.

So, almost like the hidden message that Bush gave after Katrina; Obama gave a clear message to those that lost their homes and property: 'I'm a short timer and I have nothing to gain'. It's hard to find a politician that likes poor people!

Obama never criticized Bush? Really? So when be referred to "the president" in this speech, who did he mean?

Quote:
Campaigning for president a few years later, he slammed Bush for flying Air Force One over the floods. "We can talk about what happened for two days in 2005 and we should. We can talk about levees that couldn't hold, a FEMA that seemed not just incompetent but paralyzed and powerless, about a president who only saw the people from the window of an airplane instead of down here on the ground."
